I realised this morning that, as they are semi-streamlined, I should have included fuel scoops in the design, rather than relying upon the two fuel shuttles each cruiser carries. I'll do a quick recalc and repost tonight.

Being able to wilderness refuel is a must for any cruiser type design, and the Segaramii's are envisioned as being able to operate behind enemy lines for extended periods.

Tech Level 12 is an interesting point to design ships at as TL12 is just under the tonnage breakpoints for several different component systems, yet systems like Spinal Mounts are large and inefficient for their cost and displacement.

Nice challenge, though, and I need more practise as the Miazan Subsector Navy operates at TL12 (Miazan itself is TL12, as are its shipyards) which is ideal for a LBB-orientated campaign. There will be a TL15 Imperial Navy Squadron assigned to Miazan Subsector from Sector Fleet but as the nearest TL15 yards are at Gamelea (about 11 parsecs away), Naval Command has to be careful about breaking anything.Davidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14192928573798426693noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3899408099257648174.post-32541678429814137572012-08-09T10:06:51.812+12:002012-08-09T10:06:51.812+12:00Glad you're enjoying the read - I'll proba...Glad you're enjoying the read - I'll probably collect the various chapters together and make a blog page of them as the story gets a bit further along.Davidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14192928573798426693noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3899408099257648174.post-33888089909222180622012-08-09T02:54:29.550+12:002012-08-09T02:54:29.550+12:00I've been really enjoying reading these write-...I've been really enjoying reading these write-ups.

Re. the Segaramii cruisers - don't you just hate it when a throwaway inclusion comes back to create extra work for you?TamsinPhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11759947520907448060noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3899408099257648174.post-59080316485616151292012-08-07T02:22:44.589+12:002012-08-07T02:22:44.589+12:00Nice reading.
